The Braun ThermoScan® 5 is the ear thermometer trusted by more paediatricians than any other brand — fast, gentle, and accurate for the whole family, from newborns to adults. Using infrared technology to measure the heat generated by the eardrum and surrounding tissue, it delivers a reliable core body temperature reading in seconds. The ear is an ideal measurement site because the eardrum shares the same blood supply as the brain's temperature control centre, meaning fever is detected quickly and accurately.

The ThermoScan® 5 features a pre-warmed tip that minimises the cooling effect of a cold probe in the ear canal, improving measurement accuracy. The ExactTemp® positioning system confirms correct placement with a light and a beep before taking a reading, eliminating guesswork.
